Commenting on the latest figures showing unemployment in Wales falling by 6,000 as well as a rise in employment, Nick Ramsay AM, Shadow Minister for Business, said:
"These figures showing falling unemployment, rising employment and a drop in economic inactivity are very welcome news for the Welsh economy, although there is no room for complacency.
"The Welsh economy remains fragile and is still underperforming compared to other parts of the UK. Wales continues to be ranked as the poorest part of the UK and the claimant count remains higher than the UK average as it has been in every year of Welsh Labour Government.
"Welsh Labour Ministers must use all the levers at their control to nurture these green shoots of economic recovery and create the conditions in which businesses can prosper, expand and create new jobs."
