Reports today that Quinn Radiators in Newport has gone into administration brought as well the sad news of 300 further redundancies for South Wales.
Commenting, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Business, Russell George AM, said:
“It’s terrible to hear of any business ceasing trading and mass redundancies happening as a result, but to hear of Quinn going so soon after Ford’s announcement last week is a real kick to the people of South Wales.
“These employees were given this news without warning, and my thoughts are with those who lost their jobs today and last week.
“With the news of the Welsh Government’s M4 relief road rejection it’s a very disappointing time for the people and businesses of South Wales.
“I will continue to push the Welsh Government to do everything in its power to retrain these workers and attract new business to the area.”
