Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, Cllr. Craig Williams, has welcomed the Minister for Immigration, Mark Harper MP, to Cardiff North.
The Minister joined Craig in meeting residents around the Philog in Whitchurch to discuss the recent news that net migration is now at its lowest level for a decade.
Commenting on the news, Cllr Williams said: “After years of uncontrolled immigration by Labour, I am pleased that this Government has brought down net migration to sustainable levels, whilst still making Britain an attractive place for the brightest and best talent from around the world.
“The new Immigration Bill will further reform the system by strengthening enforcement powers, making it easier to remove people with no right to be here, as well as tightening the law and clamping down on individuals who abuse our public services.”
The Minister joined Craig and Jonathan Evans MP for a Fish & Chip supper at the Ararat Centre in Whitchurch, with food supplied by the award winning Top Gun Fish Bar.
